I am frequently asked during conferences or directly by email about what kind of equipment I am using or what kind of equipment one should choose. I am personally used both RED and CANON cameras (C300 and Still bodies), and I love them both. However, as incredible as they might be, they are tools. I always advise not to focus too much on gear & technics, since the very best stories, you will tell it with your heart and feeling.

[/two_col_last][two_col][blockquote]Once you touch RAW video and still, it is very difficult to do without, and so I really love working with RED for that reason (REDCODE), and with CANON and their DSLR for stills. On some project, I also like to use the CANON C300s because of its great ergonomic and also impressive video autofocus. On the photo story side, I always have 2 different bodies, first because I am often using two different kind of focal for shooting the same subject and naturally in case of technical issues on one of the body.[/blockquote][/two_col][two_col_last][blockquote]CANON EF Lenses are incredibly sharp, lightweight, and all have a motorized focus so useful both in filmmaking (RED Latitude, Foolcontrol, CANON autofocus) and photography. I am using the 17-40 for landscape, the 70-300 for close wildlife and landscape, the 100mm for macro/portrait and the 500mm/300mm for distance wildlife. The Canon 24-70f/4 IS along with the Canon 17-40f/4 are my workhorses for many documentaries.
